A Colorado firefighter was killed Saturday morning when his fire truck crashed en route to an EMS call.
Captain Shane Stewart, 33, has been a member of the Ault-Pierce Fire Protection District since 2004. His father and brother also are firefighters.
The truck's right wheel drifted off the side of the road into soft dirt on the shoulder, and it pulled the truck into a ditch. The truck then rolled. Stewart was ejected, and pronounced dead at the scene, according to published reports.
More information will be posted when it becomes available.
