Kentucky Firefighter Killed Responding to Station

Flat Gap Fire Department loses volunteer.

A volunteer firefighter in Kentucky was killed in a vehicle crash on Thursday afternoon.

Cecil Tucker Jr., 28, a volunteer with Flat Gap Fire Dept., was killed while engaged in a work detail, authorities said.

Tucker had been with the fire company in rural Kentucky for the past four months.

He is survived by his wife and two children, ages 7 and three weeks.

Funeral arrangements are pending, and will be posted when they become available.

Funeral Information

Visitation for Firefighter Tackett is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 29 and Saturday, Dec. 30 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Phelps and Son Funeral Home in Paintsville, Ky.

The funeral will be Sunday, Dec. 31 at 1 p.m., also at the funeral home.
