Retired FDNY Dies Fighting Fire as Volunteer Firefighter

A volunteer firefighter who recently retired from a storied career with the FDNY died battling a house fire in Woodmere, Long Island.

A 30 Year veteran of FDNY, retired as Lieutenant in Rescue 2 and Ex-Chief of Woodmere FD, Long Island, NY, collapses at a house fire on Longacre Ave in Woodmere. Pete Lund, known to many for his uninterrupted dedication to the fire service will be missed.
