New Jersey Firefighter Collapses in Station

It is believed he died of a heart attack.

The U.S. Fire Administration is reporting the on-duty death of an Atlantic City, New Jersey firefighter May 31 at his station.

Paul Carr, 58, was discovered after performing ladder drills and public education programs demonstrating firefighting techniques on Tuesday.

Firefighter Carr went to perform his afternoon physical fitness training. During his workout he suffered a heart attack in the fire station where he was assisted by his fellow firefighters. He was taken to the Atlantic City Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 3 p.m.

According the the Press of Atlantic City, Carr lived in Northfield with his wife and two teenage sons.
