Captain Conway was working a July 29 incident of an activated carbon monoxide house alarm when he began suffering chest pains. He was later transported to Our Lady of Lords Hospital in Camden and then to Thomas Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia and there passed away of an apparent heart attack.

Captain Conway was 78-years-old and had served the Haddon Heights Fire Department for over 57 years. He retired in 1992, from West Jersey Hospital in Voorhees, as the Chief of Security. He is survived by his wife and five children.

Visitation will be held Friday, August 6 from 1900 to 2100 hours at the Healy Funeral Home, 9 White Horse Pike, Haddon Heights, and Saturday, August 7 from 0930 to 1030 hours. A firefighter funeral and Mass of Christian Burial will take place at the St. Rose of Lima Church, 4th & Kings Highway, Haddon Heights at 1100 hours. Internment will be at the New St. Mary's Cemetery, Bellmawr, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made to the Haddon Heights Fire Dept., Station Ave., Haddon Heights, NJ 08035.
