Brown, Under Secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security for Emergency Preparedness and Response, announced today the release of the Report on Firefighter Fatalities in the United States in 2003 . The report details the circumstances surrounding the 111 firefighter fatalities that occurred in 2003. The report also contains special reports on alcohol use in the fire service, risk management and special focuses on diesel exhaust emissions and fires in which firefighters become disoriented inside of buildings.
