COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) -- A fallen Woonsocket, R.I., firefighter who died of an illness contracted while on the job is among the 106 names added to the Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial this weekend.

Rescue Capt. Daniel Girard was a member of the Woonsocket Fire Department for 18 years and died last year at the age of 47.

At a ceremony honoring the firefighters Saturday, a bell rang for each name and bagpipes played ``Amazing Grace.''

The service started with a procession of more than 200 motorcycles, followed by a line of fire trucks from across the state.

Two fire trucks extended 100-foot ladders in an arch framing the majestic mountains behind the shiny black granite ``Wall of Honor.''

There are 1,686, names etched into the memorial.
