According to the United States Fire Administration, Thomas De Angelis, a Captain with the Stowe Township Volunteer Fire Department, suffered an alleged heart attack on Wednesday, June 23.
U.S.F.A. reports that Captain De Angelis was on shift Wednesday June 23, and after responding to a call, he returned to the firehouse at approximately 2am. He became ill, and was rushed to a local hospital. Later on that day, Captain De Angelis was pronounced dead.
Preliminary tests indicate that Captain De Angelis died from a heart attack.
Funeral arrangements are as follows:The visitation for Captain De Angelis will be at the Anthony M. Musmanno Funeral Home, 700 Seventh Street, McKees Rocks, PA on Thursday, June 24 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., and on Friday, June 25th from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.
A private firefighter memorial service is scheduled for Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
A private funeral will also be held at the St. John of God Parish, Mother of Sorrows Church, McKees Rocks, PA.
