Connie C. Bornman, 56, a firefighter and EMT for Middle River Volunteer Rescue Company died while assisting a patient on Monday at approximately 3 p.m.

Bornman was a volunteer for the Middle River Volunteer Rescue Company for the past four years according to Division Chief Harold C. Cohen.

According to Cohen, she was on a call assisting a patient that was suffering from chest pains, when she went out to get a little fresh air. She sat in the front of the truck with the air conditioning on thinking it was the heat that was causing her trouble.

The patient that she was helping to care for was stable at the time and the next crew got there quickly, according to Cohen.
