Missouri Firefighter Stricken At Fire

A 52 year old Salisbury, Missouri firefighter dies after becoming ill at the scene of a grass fire.

Mike Stanley, 52, a firefighter for the Salisbury Missouri Volunteer Fire Department, died after becoming ill at the scene of a grass fire.

Chief Leonard Cruse said that Stanley was a nine-year veteran of the department and worked for the city of Salisbury parks department in maintanence. He is survived by his daughter and his wife, Jaleta.

Funeral services will be held at the Summerville Funeral Home in Salisbury, 506 North Blevins Drive. The viewing will be held from 4-8 p.m. on March 18. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on March 19.

The Salisbury Fire Department will provide the honorary pallbearers. There will be a VFW memorial service for the Vietnam veteran immediately following the funeral service.
