Missouri Firefighter Collapses in Station, Dies

Funeral services for Mansfield Firefighter Andrew W. Cody will be held Wednesday.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday for a Missouri firefighter who collapsed and died at the station Friday night.

Mansfield Firefighter Andrew Warren Cody died in the station after efforts by his colleagues failed, Chief Byron Clark announced on the department's Facebook page.

"Andy has served the Mansfield Fire Department selflessly for over 23 years as a Firefighter, Captain, and Assistant Fire Chief. Please keep Andy's family as well as his Fire Dept family in your thoughts and prayers," the chief wrote.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Holman-Howe chapel at 209 N. Lincoln St. in Mansfield. The funeral service will begin at 1.  Burial to follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery west of Hartville.

There will be an emergency vehicle procession to the cemetery. 

Emergency vehicle staging will be at the school parking lot 1 block north of the funeral home.
