A Georgia firefighter collapsed and died on duty last week.

Christ Swan, 57, was checking on an automatic alarm when he became fatigued, and went into cardiac arrest, the USFA reported.

Swan's colleagues at Lockeed Martin Aeronautical Fire Department tried to revive him, but their efforts proved fruitless. He was rushed to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Arrangements for the firefighter with 28 years of service are pending.

More information will be posted when it becomes available.
