Ind. Fire Chief Dies of Apparent Heart Attack

An apparent heart attack has left an Indiana fire department without a chief.

Munster Fire Chief James Knesek, died Saturday afternoon from an apparent heart attack.

Knesek, 59, has been the chief since 2005..

On its website, the department announced: "It is with deep regret and profound sadness that the Munster  Fire Department announces the death of its Chief, James Knesek on 8 February 2014 - Time of service: 1979 to 2014 - James's assignment is completed and he has returned to quarters.".

Funeral services will be announced later.
