Mich. Chief Dies Following Training

Ironwood Fire Chief Jamie A. Peite, 43, suffered a fatal heart attack hours after conducting training last week.

Chief Petie took part in pumper training on March 4 when he began to fell ill. The U.S. Fire Administration reports that he thought it was not serious.

The next morning, while attending a class at the University of Wisconsin-Superior, he suffered a heart attack.  

He was transported to the hospital where he succumbed.
