TN Firefighter Killed, Four Injured at House Fire

Officials have released details about the Lawrenceburg fire and collapse that claimed firefighter Jason Dickey.

Officials have shared more information about Monday night's deadly collapse at a house fire that claimed the life of a Lawrenceburg firefighter. One firefighter remains in intensive care.

Firefighters were called to the home at the end of a long private driveway around 4:30 p.m. and began battling the house fire.

Jason Dickey, 38, was one of five firefighters who were caught when the structure collapsed, according to WHNT. A mayday was called at 7:57 p.m. and crews were able to get breathing air to the trapped firefighters. 

Officials said the firefighters were removed by 8:09 p.m. and rushed to the hospital.

The collapse left four firefighters injured and officials said one firefighter is still in intensive care, according to the Tennessean

"He was like one of my own," Lawrenceburg Fire Chief Jay Moore said Tuesday morning. "I’ve lost one of my boys."

"I want to ask for everyone’s prayers," Moore added. "We’re going to get through this by God’s grace and mercy."

Dickey, an 11-year veteran of the department, and his wife were expecting a baby in the next few weeks. He leaves behind his wife, two daughters and a son.
