A veteran Wyoming firefighter has died after spending six months battling COVID-19.

Laramie County Fire District #2 announced in a Facebook post that Assistant Chief Charles "Chuck" Scottini had lost his lengthy fight against the virus after contracting it while on a wildfire assignment in Colorado.
