AR Firefighter Dies after Contracting COVID-19

Pine Bluff firefighter Cory Collins contracted COVID-19 during an EMS call and passed away from complications of the virus on Aug. 21.

An Arkansas firefighter passed away late last month after contracting COVID-19 on an EMS call a few weeks earlier.

The U.S. Fire Administration on Thursday announced the line-of-duty death of Pine Bluff Fire & Emergency Services firefighter/engineer Cory Collins, who succumbed to the virus on Aug. 21 after being infected on Aug. 5.

The 32-year-old Collins was a nine-year veteran of the fire service.

According to his obituary, he leaves behind a wife, his parents and and multiple siblings.
