Virgin Islands Firefighter Dies in Apparatus Rollover

A firefighter with the U.S. Virgin Islands Fire Service has died after being involved in an apparatus wreck while returning from a training exercise.

The U.S. Fire Administration announced that firefighter Kasey Callwood, 32, passed away Monday while he and another firefighter were returning from training and their apparatus rolled over in a single-vehicle wreck.

Firefighter Callwood was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other firefighter was treated at a hospital and released.
