Baltimore Fire Lieutenant Stricken at Incident will Continue to Save Lives
A veteran Baltimore firefighter, stricken at a structure fire on Monday, is on life support.
Lt. Mark Dranbauer, 44, has elected to continue to save lives as an organ donor, according to a message from his family and Baltimore Fire Officers IAFF Local 964.
"Even after death, Lt. Dranbauer continues to think of others as his tussues and organs will be donated and will save an estimated 70 lives," the family shared.
Dranbauer suffered a medical emergency about half way up a ladder at a structure fire on Saratoga Street on Monday.
His crew quickly rescued him from the ladder and transported him to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center.
During a press conference Tuesday, Fire Chief James Wallace asked for prayers for Dranbauer and his family.
Funeral arrangements will be announced in the future.
