Richlandtown, PA, Fire Police Officer Dies while Responding to Call

Richlandtown Fire Police Officer Todd Koch suffered a medical emergency and died despite immediate intervention.

Richlandtown firefighters are mourning the loss of a dedicated fire police officer.

On Monday, Fire Police Officer Todd Koch suffered a severe respiratory attack while responding to an emergency. He subsequently went into cardiac arrest. Despite immediate treatment, he did not survive.

"Todd was a dedicated and valued member of the Richlandtown Fire Company and served the community with commitment and pride. His willingness to answer the call to help others reflects the selflessness that defines the fire service," according to a statement posted on the department's Facebook page.

Funeral arrangements are pending.
