Prince George's County, MD, Firefighter/Paramedic Dies after Shift

Firefighter/Paramedic Demair Lloyd, 44, suffered a medical emergency at home after his shift in Prince George's County.

Prince George's County fire and EMS personnel are mourning the loss of a colleague.

Firefighter/Paramedic Demair Lloyd, 44, had just finished his regular 24-hour shift and was at home when he experienced a medical emergency.

He had been with the department since 2006, serving in Calverton, according to a statement from Prince George's County Fire/EMS.

"He was not only a valued teammate but also a dear friend, and his absence is deeply felt by all of us in our fire department family," officials wrote.

Funeral arrangements are pending.
