Raymond, NH, Firefighter Dies While Responding to Call
Raymond firefighter Eric Phillips died following a medical emergency suffered while responding to a call for service Friday night.
Phillips, 44, was transported to Exeter Hospital, where he later died despite the efforts of first responders.
“The Raymond Fire Department is heartbroken by the sudden and unexpected loss of Eric," Fire Chief Jason Grant said in a statement. "Eric dedicated five years of his life to serving the people of Raymond, and his commitment to his fellow firefighters and our community will never be forgotten. Our thoughts and prayers are with Eric’s family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing and working alongside him.”
Grant said Phillips demonstrated “dedication, courage, and compassion” during his time with the fire department.
“The Raymond Fire Department extends its deepest condolences to Eric’s family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time,” said Grant.
