Nashville Firefighter Dies after On-Duty Medical Emergency at Fire Station

Nashville firefighter Wayne Barry Jr. died after being stricken at Fire Station 32 early Tuesday morning.

A Nashville firefighter died after suffering a medical emergency while on duty early Tuesday.

Wayne Barry Jr. was stricken around 2 a.m. at Fire Station 32 on Andrew Jackson Parkway.

Fire officials told WSMV that Barry was rushed to Summit Medical Center for treatment.

The firefighter was pronounced deceased shortly after arriving at the hospital.

Officers from the Metro Nashville Police Department was called into assist with the investigation.
