Girard, PA, Junior Firefighter Killed in Bike Crash Responding to Call
A.F. Dobler Hose and Ladder Company Junior Firefighter Bryce Kaufmann is being remembered for his enthusiasm, dedication and humor.
He was riding an e-bike to a call Sunday when he was involved in a collision with a vehicle. Kaufmann was transported to a hospital where he died Monday of his injuries, according to Erie News Now.
"Bryce was a junior at Girard High School and a deeply valued member of our fire department family. He will forever be remembered for his ability to make everyone smile. His entire face—and truly his whole being—would light up whenever he heard the words, “GEAR UP!” Dopler fire officials wrote in a tribute on Facebook.
"Bryce’s enthusiasm, humor, dedication, and bright spirit touched everyone around him. His time with us was far too short, but the impact he made will remain within our department forever."
