BOISE, Idaho (AP) -- Airplanes and hand crews fought a fire burning Wednesday in heavy timber 13 miles east of Donnelly in west-central Idaho, Boise National Forest officials said.

The Dollar fire was reported on the Cascade Ranger District about four miles southeast of Kennally Campground. The fire had burned 200 acres in heavy concentrations of dead and downed timber by late Wednesday.

About 100 firefighters were dispatched. Two helicopters and six air tankers also worked the blaze. No structures were in danger and the cause was under investigation.

The fire was burning in remote country above the South Fork of the Salmon River and firefighters were brought to the line by helicopters.

Six additional crews of about 120 people have been requested.
