Photo Story: Dog Rescued at St. Paul House Fire

A woman escaped through a small basement window as a fire filled her St. Paul home with smoke on May 11.

Firefighters were dispatched for a report of smoke filling the Tuscarora Avenue home around 10 a.m. The woman who called 911 said she escaped by breaking out a window and crawling through.

Engine 10 and Ladder 10 reported smoke coming the one-story home and began an offensive attack.

Inside the smoke filled home, firefighters found six dogs and they were removed.

Using oxygen, crews were able to save one of the dogs.

No residents or firefighters were injured.
