Photo Story: Defensive Attacked Used on Md. Fire

First arriving units from Montgomery County Fire and Rescued found a single family home with heavy fire showing from the roof.

A defensive attack was used when a fast-moving fire spread through a North Potomac home in Montgomery County on April 24,

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service crews were dispatched at 10:39 p.m. for a reported house fire on Rollinmead Drive.

First arriving units found a large single family home with heavy fire showing from the roof. The rapid intervention dispatch had already been sent by Montgomery County Fire Communications, indicating a working fire. 

Shortly after arrival, command requested a second alarm.

Hand-held and aerial master streams were utilized to extinguish the fire.

The home suffered heavy damage.

Rapid Intervention assignment: AT703, RS703, A722

Second alarm: E703B, E729, E734, E728, T734, AT723, A708C, M729, Air 733, Canteen 708
