Photo Story: Workers Burned at Indianapolis Fire
Two people were seriously injured during a multiple alarm fire at an Indianapolis auto repair shop on May 27.
The fire started after the shop owner's clothes caught fire while he working with a torch. Another worker attempted to extinguish the flames and both were seriously burned.
Fire crews called or a second alarm soon after they arrived due to heavy smoke and fire conditions involving the one-story commercial building.
Firefighters worked for two hours to contain the stubborn blaze.
The incident commander requested the building be immediately demolished due to the extensive damage. Â
The Marion County Board of Health also responded to the scene to investigate a large amount of spilled chemicals.Â
