Seven fire departments were called to the Haddam house fire.

Multiple fire departments were request during a Jan. 10 house fire on Killingworth Road in Haddam.

Just after 7 p.m., crews found heavy fire and smoke showing from a two-story colonial.

Fire suppression required the efforts of seven area fire departments including Haddam, Killingworth, Chester, Durham, Clinton, East Haddam and Haddam Neck. The Haddam Volunteer Ambulance Service responded, along with the Middletown South District, who provided a Rapid Intervention Team and Essex provided station coverage for Haddam.

The homeowner was inside at the time of the fire but escaped without injury.

The Haddam fire marshal and State Fire Marshal are investigating the cause.
