Tankers were needed to control a fire that destroyed the Anchor Appliance Store on Main Street in Eagleswood Twp. on July 30.

Just before 5 p.m., the Eagleswood Vol Fire Company and Parkertown Fire Company were dispatched for a building fire.

Command quickly struck a second alarm as fire condition got worse. Crews tried in interior attack but were quickly ordered out of the building due to the collapsing structure.

A third alarm was called and a water supply was set up using a Tanker Task Force.

About 15 fire companies were on scene with about 100 firefighters.

They remained on scene for seven hours.
