Crews from Anoka-Champlin and Andover battled the general alarm commercial fire.

The Anoka-Champlin Fire Department was dispatched to North Road for a reported fire at a commercial business on Nov. 2.

While enroute, dispatchers advised they were receiving multiple calls for explosions and a building fire. The call was upgraded from a single station call to a general alarm.

Anoka-Champlin Chief 2 arrived and reported a 30-by-50-foot metal building fully involved.

Engine 3 to laid a supply line into the yard up to the fire building and pulled multiple handlines to fight the well involved structure. Ladder 21 went to the North side of the structure and laid a supply line. After establishing a water supply they set up their aerial and pulled a pre-connect. Crews from Ladder 21 started extinguishing fire through street level windows and from their aerial master stream.

As additional Anoka-Champlin crews arrived they pulled more attack lines to assist with fire control.

Saws were used to open up the structure to get at pockets of fire.

The Andover Fire Department was requested to the scene to assist and Coon Rapids Fire Department covered Anoka-Champlin Station 1.
