Photos: IN Firefighters Encounter Holes in Floor During Firefight

A firefighter was injured battling a late night duplex fire in Indianapolis.

Indianapolis firefighters found unsafe conditions on the interior they battled a Dec. 27 house fire and moved to a defensive attack.

The initial report of the fire came from police officers around 10:30 p.m. and firefighters arrived to find heavy fire in a 2 1/2-story duplex.

Firefighters found holes in the second floor as they worked on the interior.

Command pulled crews from the structure and called for additional companies as they transitioned to a defensive attack. 

One firefighter was injured.
