Several departments were called to an early morning house fire in Brewster April 12.

Brewster firefighters were dispatched to a house fire with a report of flames showing at 2:09 a.m. Automatic Aid was called from Wilmot Fire Department and Beach City Fire & Rescue.

The first-due engine found heavy fire coming from the two-story, balloon-frame dwelling and flames were threatening an adjacent home and business. An immediate request was put in for an additional engine and tenders from multiple  departments.

A partial collapse of the A side occurred shortly after crews began attacking the fire.

The grade of the roadway forced crews to set up their drop tanks a distance from the scene and then a relay pump was established to get water to the fire scene.

A total of five engines, six tenders, one rescue and three ALS medic units responded.
