Firehouse shares recent fires from around the country.

New Haven, CT, Jan. 7, 2019—Firefighters responded to the scene of a 2½-story private dwelling with heavy fire on the second and third floors. Crews had to briefly back out of the dwelling as fire erupted through the roof. A 2½-inch handline was used to darken down the fire, and firefighters were able to regroup and go back interior, stretching multiple lines to both floors. The fire took about an hour to bring under control.

East Putnam, CT, Jan. 16, 2019—A fast-moving fire destroyed an auto repair and restoration complex on Providence Pike. The shop is known to have many parts for restoring Lincoln cars. Firefighters were able to save three Lincolns that were in the garage bays in the unburned section before it sustained heavy smoke damage. The mansard roof of the center section collapsed, just missing firefighters using master streams on the ground.

Palmer, PA, Jan. 4, 2019—Upon arrival, crews from the Palmer Municipal Fire Department found heavy fire showing from the C and D sides of a single-family residence. Neighbors reported hearing several explosions that woke them up and then tried to make entry, but fire and smoke drove them back. Several other surrounding departments assisted at the scene.

Dade City, FL, Jan. 18, 2019—Members of Pasco County Fire Rescue and surrounding agencies battled a two-alarm industrial fire at the Dade City Business Center.
