ROCHESTER, NY, APRIL 29—Members of the Rochester Fire Department were dispatched for a report of a house fire. Upon arrival, Engine 5 reported heavy smoke showing from the second floor and attic of a two-and-a-half-story wood-frame dwelling. Companies quickly stretched lines to the fire floors and worked to knock down the heavy fire while other crews stretched a line to protect an exposure on the Bravo side. Firefighters were able to contain the fire and hold it from spreading. Extensive overhaul was necessary to chase some stubborn hot spots in the structure.

BALTIMORE, MAY 16—At 7:52 a.m., Baltimore City Fire Department 9-1-1 operators began taking calls for reports of a house on fire, with people trapped inside, in Southwest Baltimore, which triggered a one-alarm assignment at 7:53 a.m. Engine 14 arrived to find fire showing from a two-story, middle-of-the-group row house. Firefighters began an aggressive interior attack. One civilian was found after that individual jumped from the second-floor window of the burning home. Battalion 3 arrived and transmitted a working fire with a special call for an additional EMS unit to tend to the injured civilian. When units arrived in the rear, they reported extension to both adjoining houses. A second alarm was transmitted at 7:59 a.m. Firefighters brought the fire under control at 8:48 a.m.

WEST TUCKERTON, NJ, MAY 13—The West Tuckerton Fire Company arrived at the site of a reported structure fire to find heavy fire through the roof of a three-story apartment building. Mutual aid was requested from the Barnegat Fire Company, the Mystic Island Volunteer Fire Company, the New Gretna Volunteer Fire Department, the Parkertown Volunteer Fire Company, the Stafford Township Fire Prevention Bureau and the Tuckerton Fire Department. Because the fire spread to the woods, the New Jersey Forest Fire Service was called, too. Crews knocked down the fire within one hour.
