TLX Fire & Security, Redline Fire Solutions Team Up Against Lithium-Ion Battery Fires

Redline Fire Solutions and TLX Fire & Security are collaborating to bring PFAS-free firefighting agents to first responders designed for lithium-ion battery fires.

Redline Fire Solutions and TLX Fire & Security announced a new collaboration to launch a variety of agents designed for quick extinguishment in various fire classes, starting with agents designed for lithium-ion battery fires.

These proprietary bio-based agents are PFAS-free, non-corrosive, non-toxic and biodegradable, providing fire services with an efficient solution that is safer for responders and the environment. They were created for firefighters by firefighters. Every component is included on the Safer Chemical Ingredients List maintained by the EPA.

Agents that can swiftly put out lithium-ion battery fires, limit thermal runaway and prevent reignition are essential for fire departments. Additionally, they require substitutes for PFAS-based goods, which are coming under more regulatory scrutiny.

This collaboration offers responders a PFAS-free solution suited for these difficult fires by fusing the knowledge of Redline Fire Solutions and TLX Fire & Security. The only products available that deal with all four components of the fire tetrahedron in lithium-ion battery fires are Thermal Stop and Thermal Shield. Thermal Stop is a patented wetting solution that effectively puts out Class A, B, D and K fires as well as lithium-ion fires in a matter of seconds or minutes with very little water. After batteries are extinguished, its sister device, Thermal Shield, stabilizes them for safe storage and transportation. Both have independent NFPA 18 certification, are non-toxic, biodegradable and free of PFAS.

TLX Fire & Security will help with development, production, marketing and sales, and their global market presence will enable fire departments all around the world to use these products. Redline Fire Solutions maintains the products rooted in the demands of their users and supports an ongoing pipeline of new products by bringing extensive firefighting knowledge and skill in purpose-driven formula development.
