A three-alarm fire destroyed three buildings at the Miccosukee Reservation in Miami-Dade County late Sunday.

Shortly after 8:30 p.m., more than two dozen Miami-Dade Fire Rescue units responded to the 37700 Block of Southwest Eighth Street. By the time firefighters arrived, the three buildings were fully on fire, and the flames were possibly spreading to nearby cars, the fire department said in a news release.

People were evacuated from surrounding buildings, and no one was injured.

The call was upgraded to a third alarm, meaning a significant fire that requires more manpower, because of exposed powerlines and winds spreading embers. More than 25 fire rescue units responded, the fire department said.

The cause is under investigation.
