Ore. Firefighters Rescue Hiker After 30-Foot Fall

Nov. 29--MULINO -- A woman was flown to the hospital by helicopter ambulance today after she fell down a 30-foot bluff while hiking and complained of severe neck and back pain. She was not identified. Lt. Denise Everhart, Molalla Fire District spokeswoman, said the woman, described as being in her mid-40s, was hiking near Oregon 213 at South Alder Creek Lane around 3:48 p.m., when she lost her footing and tumbled down a steep embankment.

Firefighters used rope-rescue equipment to reach the woman and carry her to safety, Everhart said.

Everhart did not know how the woman fell.
