Car Drops Over 150-Foot Embankment in Calif.
Nov. 05--A single vehicle driving westbound Friday on Interstate 80 drove off a 150-foot embankment.
Vallejo firefighters extricated the 31-year-old driver, the car's only occupant, after the incident was reported at 6:25 a.m., just past the Hunters Hill rest stop, fire Battalion Chief Pat Dunn said.
Due to the steep embankment, firefighters were required to carry their extrication equipment on foot down a jeep trail, Dunn said.
The victim, a Vallejo resident, was taken to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek with serious injuries, Dunn said.
