FITCHBURG, Wis. --
An electrical fire broke out at a TDS construction site in Fitchburg on Sunday evening.
The incident happened just before 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the Team Data Data Center located at 5500 block of Noble Drive.
According to Fitchburg fire officials, smoke was billowing from an electrical room in a new portion of the building when firefighters arrived. Once inside, firefighters found high heat and heavy smoke in the room.
Firefighters worked with MG&E to cut off power to the portion of the building. Then, firefighters used specialized chemical fire suppression equipment to put out the fire.
Firefighters from 12 departments assisted in removing smoke from the building. No one was injured fighting the blaze, officials said.
The fire was ruled accidental in nature, and is believed to have been caused by a malfunction in a piece of electrical switching equipment, they said.
