As of 5 p.m. Saturday, the Mint Fire, which is burning near Sierra Highway and Mint Canyon Drive, has scorched over 640 acres, according to Nathan Judy of the Angeles National Forest.

The fire was reported around 8 a.m. and quickly burned uphill, fueled by light winds and dry brush.

It is currently 80 percent contained.

One firefighter was airlifted to a local hospital with a shoulder injury around 6:30 p.m. Saturday, according to L.A. County Fire officials.

Thirteen helicopters, 2 super scoopers and 6 air tankers from L.A. County Fire and Cal Fire are working to take down the fire, which is expected to be fully contained by 6 p.m. Sunday, Judy said.

No homes or structures are threatened.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
