Iowa Retirement Home Ruckus Over Burnt Wiener

DES MOINES, Iowa -- Firefighters said a burned hot dog was to blame for fire call at a retirement home on Tuesday. Fire crews were called to the Frank W. Smith Retirement Center at 2100 Beaver Avenue around 1 p.m.

Firefighters said a burned hot dog was to blame for fire call at a retirement home on Tuesday.

Fire crews were called to the Frank W. Smith Retirement Center at 2100 Beaver Avenue around 1 p.m.

Residents were not evacuated from building, but but were taken out of their rooms. Residents reports lots of smoke.

No one was hurt in the incident.
