ALLISON PARK, Pa.
--
Firefighters rescued a baby deer from a sewer in Allison Park over the weekend.
Greg Edleman sent Channel 11 News photos of the fawns rescue. The deer had its hooves stuck in a sewer outside a home along Montgomery Road.
Edleman said the fawn had been hanging around his house for nearly 12 hours before he heard it crying in the sewer.
"I was walking the dog and I heard a yelping sound. I looked all over and I eventually realized it was beneath me," Edleman said.
Edleman said it took a team of police and firefighters to bring the fawn to safety.
"One cop showed up, and then two, then three and then four, and then a fire truck and a volunteer fire department," said Endleman.
He said it took crews about an hour to rescue the animal. They then gave it some water and set it free in a wooded area, Edleman said.
