Pa. House Slides Off Foundation, Traps Man

KISKI TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- Emergency crews in Armstrong County were called to rescue a man who had become trapped inside his home after it began sliding off its foundation. Kiski Township firefighters said the man was sleeping inside his home along Red Town Road when his house started to move. "We really don't know what happened to the residence, we're thinking it was from all the excess rain," said Chief Rich Frain of the Kiski Township Fire Department. "That weakened the foundation allowing the structure to collapse."

Emergency crews in Armstrong County were called to rescue a man who had become trapped inside his home after it began sliding off its foundation.

Kiski Township firefighters said the man was sleeping inside his home along Red Town Road when his house started to move.

"We really don't know what happened to the residence, we're thinking it was from all the excess rain," said Chief Rich Frain of the Kiski Township Fire Department. "That weakened the foundation allowing the structure to collapse."

The man's wife was able to get out of the home without injury. The man was rescued from the home and did not sustain any injuries.

Firefighters said the house was a total loss.
