Wis. Firefighters Free Man Crushed by Roller

BENTON TOWNSHIP, Wis. -- A 53-year-old man was crushed by a self-propelled pavement roller that he was using to compact soil in a residential yard on Monday night, according to the Lafayette County Sheriff's Department. Authorities said that John H. Kuhle, of Benton Township in rural Hazel Green, was running the heavy equipment on a slope in the yard and it overturned and fell on him. Emergency responders were called to Kuhle's home at about 7:40 p.m.

A 53-year-old man was crushed by a self-propelled pavement roller that he was using to compact soil in a residential yard on Monday night, according to the Lafayette County Sheriff's Department.

Authorities said that John H. Kuhle, of Benton Township in rural Hazel Green, was running the heavy equipment on a slope in the yard and it overturned and fell on him.

Emergency responders were called to Kuhle's home at about 7:40 p.m.

The investigation into Kuhle's death is ongoing, authorities said.

Benton First Responder and Hazel Green Ambulance assisted the Lafayette County Sheriff's Department at the scene.
