Four Injured in North Carolina Roof Collapse

ASHEVILLE, N.C. -- Four people were hurt when a roof under construction collapsed at an Asheville church Friday morning, Asheville police said. The collapse happened at the Korean Methodist Church at 25 Mills Gap Road at 10:35 a.m. Asheville firefighters said that a crane at the site was being used at the time of the collapse, but did not cause the accident. Three people were trapped in debris after the collapse, police said. They said a fourth worker who was standing nearby was also injured.

Four people were hurt when a roof under construction collapsed at an Asheville church Friday morning, Asheville police said.

The collapse happened at the Korean Methodist Church at 25 Mills Gap Road at 10:35 a.m.

Asheville firefighters said that a crane at the site was being used at the time of the collapse, but did not cause the accident.

Three people were trapped in debris after the collapse, police said. They said a fourth worker who was standing nearby was also injured.

Police said the four people were taken to Mission Hospital to be treated for their injuries, which did not appear to be life-threatening.

Building safety inspectors are investigating the cause of the collapse, police said.
