PORTLAND, Ore. -- Portland firefighters rescued a puppy stuck in a heating vent at a southeast Portland home last night. Portland fire spokesman Tommy Schroeder says crews cut a hole in the ceiling in order to reach the vent at a home on Bush Street. The puppy, a 10-week-old Lhasa apso pug named Mogley, had a paint can stuck on its head when it was pulled out of the heating vent, Schroeder says. The dog was in good condition and didn't need a trip to the animal hospital.
