Kentucky Crews Let Electrical Fire Burn

LATONIA, Ky. -- Firefighters were forced to let a fire burn in Latonia until Duke Energy could shut off power to the building. The fire started at a CSX switching station near Park Avenue and 36th Street about 5 p.m. Sunday.Fire crews said the shed was full of electrical equipment and batteries. Firefighters said they were worried about possible explosions if they tried to douse the flames before power was shut off. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
