POLLOCK PINES, Calif. --

Crews said heavy snow loads and persistent rain and snow storms caused two separate roofs to partially collapse Saturday in Pollock Pines, Ca.

Firefighters responded to assist property owners late Saturday evening after the roof of the Knotty Pine Lanes Bowling Alley collapsed into the front of the occupied building. Crews said several days of heavy snowfall combined with rain added to the weight on the roof.

Three other businesses in the complex were also closed due to the collapse, crews said.

There were no reported injuries.

The Pollock Pines True Value Hardware Store also suffered a roof collapse at about 10:30 a.m. The business is closed until repairs can be made. No injuries were reported at the hardware store.

Crews advised owners of Commercial Buildings and Home Owners in the snow prone areas to monitor the amount of snow accumulation on their buildings and take action to remove excessive build ups of snow before a collapse occurs.
