EDGERTON, Wis. --

A man crashed into an Edgerton building Sunday morning. Edgerton police said a vehicle driven by Casey Meagher, 54, was traveling eastbound on WestFulton Street/State Highway 59 around 7 a.m. The vehicle left the road and struck a building at 212 West Fulton St.

Authorities said the vehicle went through a brick wall and into an Edward Jones Investment office and then became embedded in an interior wall.

A fire caused more damage to the office, but police said Edgerton firefighters were able to put out the fire quickly.

The building was evacuated, including several apartments above the Edward Jones office.

Authorities had to extract Meagher and he was taken to a local hospital where he is in critical but stable condition.

Police cited Meagher for driving without a valid driver's license, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended vehicle registration and operating left of center.

The cause of this crash was still under investigation.
